Having grown up on the Island, it wasn’t until I was an adult and left that I realized how truly unique of a place it is here. From the never ending list of outdoor activities (Cowichan river tubing, endless hiking, Tofino trips, Mount Washington skiing, Gulf Island camping, and the list goes on), to the incredible local businesses on the Island, we truly have it all. I’ve lived in other regions around the world, and one thing I came to realize is that no one is nearly as passionate about where they’re from as us Islanders, and for good reason; there’s nature, city, quiet, busy, fancy or cozy. Whatever the mood is, you’ll find something fitting closeby. The balanced lifestyle makes it no wonder why Islanders are so grounded.
I launched Vancouver Island in a box as a way for locals to share a taste of the Island and all it has to offer. With so many well established (and emerging) high quality vendors around, it seemed like a no brainer. We have an appreciation for high quality products here on the Island and that’s what we offer at Vancouver Island in a Box; top-tier brands that are most recognized and reputable in the region. A comforting taste of home.
I’m working toward making Vancouver Island in a Box the go-to practical gift for Islanders. It’s easy, it’s fun, and it fits most people’s needs. Like any Islander, one of my key values is being sustainable which is why we carry mostly consumable items within the box, which results in not only a gift, but an experience that is thoroughly enjoyed with minimal waste.
I’d like to thank you for taking the time to read and support local business here on Vancouver Island. I look forward to bringing a taste of the Island to you and your loved ones, wherever they may be.
